DECADES OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

Roy Alvey was raised in St. Mary’s County and graduated from Chopticon High School. After serving in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division, Roy returned home and began a 38-year career in telecommunications with C&P Telephone, Bell Atlantic, and Verizon. Throughout his career and retirement, Roy has remained active in the community through public boards, civic organizations, youth activities, and local government service. He and his wife, Rose, live in Valley Lee.

Put essential services first, control unnecessary spending, and work to reduce the tax and fee burden on St. Mary’s County residents.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Ensure the Sheriff’s Office, State’s Attorney, first responders, and other public-safety functions have the resources needed to serve the county.

EDUCATION

Support teachers, school staff, safe and well-maintained facilities, and dependable transportation for St. Mary’s County students.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Maintain roads, parks, public facilities, snow removal, and other basic county services residents rely on every day.

RESPONSIBLE GROWTH

Support development that strengthens the local economy while protecting rural character, communities, natural resources, and quality of life.

FAMILIES & SENIORS

Address the rising costs facing families and seniors through property-tax relief, affordable recreation, and responsible county budgeting.
